Combining Feeds

You can combine, cross-reference or block news feeds from each other. You can also run keyword searches over them to create your own custom feeds. It's easy - after picking feeds from the list just follow these instructions:

  1. Combining feeds

1. Combining two or more feeds

Create a new feed by combining two or more feeds.

Step 1: Select the feeds you want to combine.

For example - Top stories and Top business stories:

Feed A: http://p.moreover.com/page?dh=earliest&o=rss002&wiz=2390512&c=Top stories

Feed B: http://p.moreover.com/page?dh=earliest&o=rss002&wiz=2390512&c=Top business stories

Step 2: Join the names of Feed A and Feed B in a URL

Combine feeds by inserting a vertical bar | between the feed names.

http://p.moreover.com/page?dh=earliest&o=rss002&wiz=2390512&c=Top stories|Top business stories

Step 3: That's it, you're done! If you want to add a third, fourth or more feeds just repeat the steps.

Example with more feeds:

http://p.moreover.com/page?dh=earliest&o=rss002&wiz=2390512&c=Top business stories|Top stories|Top finance stories|Top US stories|Top UK stories

2. Cross-referencing two or more feeds

Create a new feed by cross-referencing two or more feeds, so only stories that appear in all the selected categories show in the new feed.

Step 1: Select the feeds you want to cross-reference.

For example - Environment news and China news

Feed A: http://p.moreover.com/page?dh=earliest&o=rss002&wiz=2390512&c=Environment news

Feed B: http://p.moreover.com/page?dh=earliest&o=rss002&wiz=2390512&c=China news

Step 2: Reference Feed A and Feed B in a single URL

Cross-reference feeds by adding &c=Feed Name to the URL of the first feed.

http://p.moreover.com/page?dh=earliest&o=rss002&wiz=2390512&c=Environment news&c=China news

Step 3: That's it, you're done! If you want to more feeds just repeat the steps.

Example with more feeds:

http://p.moreover.com/page?dh=earliest&o=rss002&wiz=2390512&c=Environment news|Climate change news&c=China news|India news|Indonesia news

3. Blocking one feed from another

Exclude one or more feeds from the selected feed, to block those stories from appearing.

Step 1: Select the feed(s) you want to block from your original feed(s).

For example - Central America news minus Mexico news

Feed A: http://p.moreover.com/page?dh=earliest&o=rss002&wiz=2390512&c=Central America news

Feed B: http://p.moreover.com/page?dh=earliest&o=rss002&wiz=2390512&c=Mexico news

Step 2: Exclude Feed B from Feed A

Block feeds by adding &c=!Feed Name to the URL of the first feed (note the exclamation mark).

http://p.moreover.com/page?dh=earliest&o=rss002&wiz=2390512&c=Central America news&c=!Mexico news

Step 3: That's it, you're done! If you want to block more feeds just repeat the steps.

Example with more feeds:

http://p.moreover.com/page?dh=earliest&o=rss002&wiz=2390512&c=Central America news|Caribbean news&c=!Mexico news|Cuba news

4. Searching within feeds

Run keyword searches over the feeds and create new bespoke categories.

Step 1: Select the feed(s) you want to search over.

For example - IPO news

http://p.moreover.com/page?dh=earliest&o=rss002&wiz=2390512&c=IPO news

Step 2: Add keyword searches to the feed

Search across feeds by adding &query= to the end of the feed followed by your keywords.

http://p.moreover.com/page?dh=earliest&o=rss002&wiz=2390512&c=IPO news&query=nasdaq OR "new york stock exchange" OR NYSE

Step 3: That's it, you're done! You can add more feeds and search terms as required.

Example with more feeds:

http://p.moreover.com/page?dh=earliest&o=rss002&wiz=2390512&c=Environment news|Climate change news&c=China news|India news|Indonesia news&query=government AND (target OR targets)
